This standard applies to installed monitors for the control and detection of radioactivity of gamma emitters contained in recyclable or non recyclable waste materials to be transported by vehicles. Object of this standard is to define conceptual requirements, general characteristics, mechanical characteristics, environmental conditions, minimal requirements, test procedures and documentation. By this specifications, it is intended to provide the puchaser with an indication of the performance of the equipment in detecting radioactive sources left in the material being monitored.
