In this guideline, the human biometeorological factors are defined and the recommended evaluation methods for the sector 'climate' are explained. The aim of this guideline is to provide evaluation methods of human biometeorology as a standard for taking into account climate and air quality (bioclimate) in relation to man in overall physical planning. Human biometeorology thus takes its place among the disciplines that provide scientific basic material for overall physical planning. Overall physical planning is greatly dependent on such support in weighing up all the in some cases conflicting viewpoints of area development, and deriving from them, in fulfillment of its assignment, a comprehensive, coordinated target system for the given planning period. Linking human biometeorology and overall physical planning requires checking, in every specific case, to ascertain which human biometeorological factors are significant in the planning process. The human biometeorological evaluation of the atmospheric environmental conditions can then also be used, for example, to clarify whether, and if so which, planning instruments are available for maintaining and improving the human biometeorological situation in the planning area.
