Therefore, the standard defines terms, designates and describes types of damage consistently, enables the systematic procedure for a failure analysis and ensures the comparability of the results of various investigative bodies. The standard describes the different types of failures, the failure symptoms, the causes of failures and failure progression in case of corrosion in electrolytes.
