The purpose of this test is to evaluate engine oils with regard to piston cleanliness in heavy duty diesel engines under severe operating conditions.

The test engine is the supercharged single cylinder 4-stroke-diesel engine type 5605, consisting of the AVL Basic Unit LEF and the MAN topworks D2866KF.
